About us

Inspired by Portland’s Stumptown Vegans (go on over there and give ’em some love!) and our penchant for vegan tourism wherever we visit, we thought it was about time to give y’all the scoop on the best places to grab a steamy cuppa, glean those knee-weakening sweets we all covet, and dig into some damn tasty chow in and around the gorgeous city of Vancouver.

So who are we? The Vegan Spoon is a duo of long-time vegans who like nothing better than to search out, create, eat, photograph, and reminisce about all things vegan and foodie. Almost nothing else gets us quite as excited as food does.

Like many of you, we’re serious about our food too. So much so that you’ll never see us sharing a plate of lo bak go. It’s just too good. We’re critical about our food, whether or not we’re the chefs or someone else is playing the host. We know nobody likes rubbery broccoli or stale rice. So we eat it all for you, and then we show and tell you what we know so you can decide for yourself where you’d like to satisfy your hunger and your thirst.

Got sumthin’ to say? Give us a shout any time by e-mailing us at veganspoon[at]gmail.com or leave us a note below. We’d be thrilled to hear from you!

Love and tofu,

The Vegan Spoonies

  1. How exciting! A dedicated vegan restaurant blog for Vancouver! Finally! Looking forward to some sharp commentary and tips for good eats.

We’ve compiled our own guide of vegan-friendly restaurants in Vancouver and would love to have you weigh in: http://www.granvilleonline.ca/vegan_restaurants

    See you around!

    Best, Hilary

    • Hey Hilary!

Glad you’re as psyched about this as we are!

When we compile our list of vegan resources, we’ll be sure to include Granville Mag’s resto guide. I’m a particular fan of it myself! We’re hoping to get this up on the site very soon, so keep your peepers open for it.
